Residents could use surgical masks, reusable cloth masks, or other suitable face coverings. Some people, such as young children and those with certain medical conditions, were exempt from this rule. The main goal was to reduce the number of infections, protect vulnerable people, and lower the pressure on hospitals. This decision showed the importance of working together as a community to stay safe and control the virus.
